Francis Slabber (HPCSA Reg # AU 0002321)
Francis is the owner of the practice and has been here since 1999. She has a B.Communication Pathology degree from the University of Pretoria which qualified her as a Speech & Language Therapist and Audiologist and after a short stint doing Speech and Language Therapy she settled in Cape Town with Audiology as her chosen profession and passion.
Francis has extensive experience in fitting and supplying hearing aids and has been on countless training courses and conferences including congresses and workshops in Denmark, USA, Singapore and Spain. She served as the Western Cape Chairperson for the South African Association of Audiologists for three years and has been involved in the planning of the national ENT, Audiology and Speech Therapy Congress in Cape Town three times. She has a special interest in adult and geriatric hearing impairment and has given many talks on the topic of hearing loss and amplification. She currently consults at the Wynberg and Tokai rooms.
Elisha Berridge ( HPCSA Reg # AU 0002356)
Elisha joined the practice in January 2008 after having worked in private practice since 1996. She started out in Cape Town and later worked in the UK in Adult and Peadiatric Audiology.
On her return in 2000 she joined a private practice in Claremont gathering loads of experience in the supply and fitting of hearing aids to mostly the adult population but eventually found her happy place when she joined our team. Elisha is the most gentle member of the team and currently works at our Wynberg, Claremont and Camps Bay rooms.
Celeste Leveson ( HPCSA Reg # AU 0002461)
Celeste qualified as an Audiologist in 2008 at UCT after having studied Business Management but realized that people were more interesting than papers! She was inspired by her mother who also works with people with occupational hearing loss, so after a year in a traveling clinic in Natal, she joined us in April 2011.
Celeste is our Rehabilitation Specialist and as she had made such a huge contribution to the practice in her general know-how of everything, she doubles up as our Operations Manager. She is super efficient and effective in all she does and has made herself indispensable.
Celeste came as if sent from above amidst the baby boom at The Hearing Clinic and has quietly staked her claim at the Wynberg and Tokai rooms.
Beth Cockcroft (HPCSA Reg # AU 0003328)
Beth qualified as an Audiologist from UCT in 2010 and came to The Hearing Clinic in 2012 after spending a year in the Free State doing her community service. She was brought in to help lighten the load during maternity leave madness and we became so attached to her that we kept her! Beth now finds herself sharing time between our practices in Wynberg and Fish Hoek.
Beth has a special interest in Auditory Training, Communication Facilitation and Tinnitus. Beth’s enthusiasm for life and her professionalism is contagious and she keeps us smiling! As such she is also in charge of all things fun and social!
Sarah Buitendag (HPCSA Reg # AU 0003549)
Sarah qualified from UCT in 2011 and had been working her fingers to the bone at a prominent audiology practice in Grahamstown and Port Alfred. She has had experience in just about every facet of audiology and brought it all, paired with bags of enthusiasm and energy to The Hearing Clinic family.
With Sarah’s passion for music she is well equipped for our working relationship with the Road to Independence project where we offer workshops on music appreciation. Her other passion, which is managing balance disorders, is being put to good use in developing a vestibular support structure at The Hearing Clinic. Sarah swooped in to save us when we needed her most. She is stationed at the Wynberg and Fish Hoek rooms and with her lovely smile and warm heart, she also takes care of those who require home visits.
